The 2025 National Sacred Choir Seminar, themed “Laying Aside the World, Putting on Christ” (Romans 13:12–14), was held on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, via the Zoom platform from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM (WAT).
The impactful session was anchored by Sister Edith Ayalogu and featured spirit-filled teachings, prayers, and musical enlightenment.

The seminar opened with hymn SS&S 329 and an opening prayer led by the Inspirer of the Day, Brother Christian Nwabueze, followed by a warm welcome address from the National Song Leader.

Key sessions included:

  1. True Repentance – A Call from the Saviour to Every Member of the Sacred Choir, by Elder Gboun Mike, emphasizing that a chorister is first a child of God and must live in holiness and repentance to remain fruitful in service.
  2. Humility as a Virtue, by Sister Chioma Ojieji, urging choristers to emulate Christ’s humility as a foundation for unity, growth, and spiritual excellence.
  3. The Priestly Role of the Sacred Choir, by Brother Wassco Giddo, who defined the choir’s sacred calling as priestly, noting that sanctification is essential since the choir uniquely bears the title “Sacred.”
  4. Hour of Prayer, led by Brother Christian Nwabueze, followed by a deep spiritual atmosphere of worship through hymn SS&S 606.

The final teaching, “Hymnals and Sacred Choruses: Their Relationship, Functions, and Spiritual Purpose in Worship”, by National Song Leader Brother Jude Sylva, explored the proper use of chants, hymns, and choruses, illustrating their roles in worship with practical examples.

Overall, the seminar was a powerful time of renewal, reminding all Sacred Choir members of their divine calling to live holy, serve faithfully, and reflect Christ both in song and in life. The seminar concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Sister Benedicta Aigiomawu and a closing hymn (SS&S 332), followed by a heartfelt closing prayer and blessing by inspirer for of day- Brother Christian Nwabueze at 12:58 PM.

Attendance : over 300 Participants attended the Seminar which included virtual and physical participants
