You Are Chosen
In a world filled with uncertainty and self-doubt, it’s easy to wonder if we’re truly valued and loved. But the Bible reminds us that we are chosen, beloved, and precious in the eyes of our Heavenly Father. Jesus says in John 15:16, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” These words remind us that our selection isn’t based on our merits but on God’s sovereign will.
Before we were born, God knew us intimately. Psalm 139:16 beautifully captures this truth: “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book and planned before a single one of them began.” This verse reassures us that our lives have purpose and direction, carefully crafted by God’s loving hands. But what does it mean to be chosen? It means we’re called to bear fruit, to live lives that reflect God’s love and character. It means we’re empowered to make a difference in the world around us. And it means we can trust God’s guidance and provision, even in challenging times.
Isaiah 43:2 offers a powerful promise: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” This verse reminds us that God is always with us, protecting and sustaining us through life’s trials.
Being chosen doesn’t mean we’ll avoid difficulties, but it does mean we have God’s presence and strength to navigate them. As we walk in faith, we can trust that our lives are in His hands, and He will use us for His glory. So, let’s embrace our identity as chosen children of God. Let’s live with confidence, knowing we’re loved, valued, and empowered to make a difference. And let’s share this message of hope with a world that needs to know they’re chosen too.
Reflection Questions:
1. How does knowing you’re chosen affect your daily life and decisions?
2. In what ways can you bear fruit and live out your faith in your community?
3. How can you trust God’s presence and guidance in challenging times?
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for choosing us and loving us with an everlasting love. Help us to live out our faith with confidence and purpose, bearing fruit that brings glory to Your name. Guide us through life’s challenges, and use us to share Your love with others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
