ALWAYS BE POSITIVE
Text: Psalms 23:1-6
Emphasis: “Surely goodness and mercies shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” (Psalms 23:6)
Narration:
A particular company needed to downsize their staff strength, which certainly was not good news for the employees. The CEO of the company decided to conduct a test for the managers, asking them to take turns to look into a full-length mirror and report to him what they saw. As simple as this may seem, all managers took the test but only one of them was successful. While other managers said they saw their unhappy and distressed selves in the mirror, the manager that got retained said; “in the mirror, I saw a man who is positive, focused and has all it takes to move this company forward and unto success”.
God’s word today wants us to calmly look into ourselves and promote the brighter side of our lives. In our Bible text today, we see the Psalmist thanking God for His many favours and blessings. The numerous setbacks he suffered in life did not change His view of God; he could still say “surely goodness and mercies shall follow me all the days of my life”. That is how positive we all should be as God’s children, no matter our circumstances. There are always negative and positive things going on around us, but it is in our hands to decide which to focus on.
Brethren, let us learn to always say positive words about situations, see the bright side of things and give thanks and glory to God for His mercies unto us. You might not be able to control all that the world throws at you, but staying always positive is totally up to you!
